Sewage treatment facilities on site

How to position a septic tank so as not to harm either yourself or your neighbors ⠀

🏡 Modern country houses, both seasonal dachas and capital buildings for permanent residence, not only are not inferior to city apartments in terms of comfort, but can also surpass them. And in order to use all the benefits of civilization without restrictions, not only water supply is necessary, but also an effective system for collecting, cleaning and discharging all types of effluents. At a minimum - collection and accumulation, with regular subsequent pumping, but this option is also becoming less common. ⠀

🏟 In the vast majority of cases, various either ready-made or improvised wastewater treatment plants are installed at the sites. The key to their effective and trouble-free operation is not only the choice of the optimal installation in all respects, but also its correct location. Consider where the main element of the private sewage system should be located, in accordance with current regulations. ⠀

🏚 The previous generation of village houses and country cottages, with amenities inside, rather than in the courtyard, was equipped with primitive cesspools. And for quite a long time, these underground “tanks”, at best, laid out in a checkerboard pattern and filled with crushed stone, were fine with everyone. But with the environment it was much better then, and there are far fewer drains - you don’t need automatic washing machines and dishwashers, no showers, no boilers, or double-circuit boilers. With titanium on solid fuel, it was possible to heat a relatively small amount, which was spent on the whole family, that other ways of organizing hot water supply were limited, and, consequently, draining was limited. Today, “one” without problems can be dug out more than was previously spent on everyone and a primitive absorbing drain pit, even if it passed according to sanitary standards, just can’t do it. ⠀

⛲ So they replaced it with more efficient and environmentally friendly septic tanks and biological treatment plants. And it is their “activity” that is regulated by the current, and not quite, standards. And which ones are not all interested in the course .. ⠀

Принудительная вентиляция

Forced ventilation

Is forced ventilation necessary? ⠀

Is it necessary to arrange forced ventilation in a private house in order to provide the recommended air exchange indicators from the point of view of regulatory documents? ⠀

⚠ Recall, the current SanPiN 2.1.2.2645-10 prescribes to have windows and windows for ventilation, для
it is only about natural ventilation. ⠀

4.7. Natural ventilation of living quarters should be carried out by air inflow through vents, transoms, or through special openings in window sashes and ventilation ducts. Exhaust duct openings should be provided in kitchens, bathrooms, toilets, and ovens. ⠀
At the same time, the minimum volume recommended in a number of documents ⠀
air per person should be at least 30 m3 / h in 1 hour. ⠀

🌪 Updated version of SNiP 4101-2003 (introduced from 01.01.2013): 30 m3 per person or 0.35 volume per hour ⠀

Thus, if the area of the living room is large enough, and for each person in it from 10 to 20 square meters, the organization of supply and exhaust ventilation according to the current ⠀
regulations are not vital. But if the room per person accounts for less than 20 square meters, forced ventilation is already urgently needed. ⠀

🌫 So, a bedroom with an area of 20 meters, in which two adults spend the night, can still do without forced ventilation. A bedroom of 18 meters is no longer there; airing alone will not cope with ventilation tasks. And small bedrooms in small cottages are done quite often. ⠀

🌟 Conclusions ⠀

According to current regulations, in houses where most of the bedrooms are less than 20 square meters, a forced ventilation device is necessary. It is also highly recommended to arrange it in large cottages with an area of more than 400 square meters. ⠀

But in a number of other cases, the “minimum amount of air” will not provide a comfortable life in a secluded house. ⠀

What material to make an entrance gate ⠀

As a rule, when it comes to which gates to put, a picture appears in the user's head: a structure welded from metal, coated with a profiled sheet. ⠀

🗣 “I decided to make a gate five meters wide. Trucks will pass through them. The only problem is the sagging sash. I want to make the gate myself out of a thick metal profile pipe. ”⠀

But is it justified? Technologies do not stand still. For example, you can buy modern ready-made gates, which are assembled according to the principle of the designer, have more than 20 options for filling the shutters and a service life of at least 15 years.

@energo_doma
When you choose ready-made gates, pay attention to the type of construction: welded or prefabricated, as well as what material it is made of. Gates made of aluminum, without welds, are more reliable - they, unlike steel, do not rust. This is important, because the gates are open all year round and are subject to the negative effects of snow and rain. High-quality entrance gates are painted with wear-resistant paint that does not fade in the sun. We recommend that the swing gates be hung on a pole using three-section overhead hinges. This eliminates the possibility of sagging. ⠀

Canvas ready gate can be filled: ⠀
🔸 extruded aluminum profiles ⠀
🔸 sandwich panels ⠀
🔸 rolling profiles ⠀
🔸 tree ⠀
🔸 metal profiled sheet or mesh ⠀

☑ Materials can be combined with each other, creatively approaching the process. ⠀

☑ Another plus of prefabricated aluminum doors - if necessary, you can replace one type of filling with another, quickly repair damage without disassembling or dismantling the entire structure. ⠀

☯Conclusions ⠀
The choice of entry group should be treated responsibly. The gate is the hallmark of the house. It is also important to remember that the gate must be in harmony with the facade of the house and the roof, garage doors, shutters and other exterior elements. ⠀

Advantages and disadvantages of sliding and swing gates ⠀

What does the owner of a country house think about when choosing an entrance gate? ⠀
❓ which type of design is better !? ⠀

Consider examples of questions from our customers: ⠀

🗣 As I understand it, the advantages of sliding gates - there is practically no need to clean the snow. They take up less space on the site, they are not skewed, like oar. But swinging, it seems, is cheaper. Tell me which gate is better? ⠀

One of the customers thinks that swing gates are more reliable than sliding gates. They practically do not require maintenance. It’s easier to install automatic drives on them. ⠀

🗣 To open the swing gates in winter, you have to remove the snow. I will redo the gate to the sliding. Tired of cleaning snow. ⠀

Opinions are divided. How to be? ⠀

@energo_doma : ⠀
Both sliding and swing gates are reliable and safe when they are correctly installed. Each type has its own characteristics. During the use of swing gates, because their doors open outwards or inwards, more free space is required. Sliding gates move along the fence. Accordingly, it is not necessary to clean the snow to open the wings, which saves the usable area of the site.

About Width: ⠀

The standard opening width for the gate is 4 m. Modern manufacturers offer gates that cover openings up to 5 m wide. There are situations when gates of a smaller or larger width are needed. It is more convenient to select a gate for a specific site if the manufacturer can make the structure in increments of 5 mm in height and width. ⠀

💡 By the way, to block a wide opening (up to 9 meters), you can put oncoming sliding gates. ⠀

The optimal dimensions of the gate are largely influenced by the width of the access road and the dimensions of the equipment. For example, the width of KAMAZ is 2500 mm excluding mirrors. In a straight line, a three-meter goal is quite enough. If the width of the road is less than 4 meters, the truck will have to enter the gate at an angle. Therefore, in some cases, a five-meter goal is not enough. ⠀

Choose a gate for a country house

⠀ Today, the market offers different entrance gates: simple and low-cost without automation and modern, which open and close using the remote control. The gates are welded or prefabricated. To fill ⠀
Sashes are also available in many different materials. Which gate to choose? ⠀

Before ordering a gate, you need to understand their design. So you understand the principle of the gate and make an informed choice. ⠀

☝🏻Hinged gates ⠀
Depending on the design of the swing gates, the doors open outwards - onto the street, or inwards - into the yard. The filling of the wings is also different. It can be a profiled sheet, wood or more modern and durable materials: extruded profiles, sandwich panels or rolling profiles. ⠀

☝🏻 Now consider the sliding gates. ⠀

Classic sliding gates are self-supporting. ⠀
At the base of the gate is a tire that moves with the help of roller bearings (manually) or an electric drive (automatically). The leaf of sliding gates, as well as swing gates, can have different filling - profiled sheet, boards, aluminum and rolling profiles, sandwich panels, etc. ⠀ ⠀
✍🏻And in the next post we will talk about the advantages and disadvantages of sliding and swinging ⠀

Automation of turning on and off country lamps

⠀🤔 You should think about how the lights on the site will be turned on and off, agreed upon? It will be simple and even pleasant for someone to independently carry out the on / off procedure every day, but with a large area of the site, and the countryside you are not only in good weather, this regular activity can turn into a real problem. As a solution - automation of the lighting system, and there are several options for implementing this story: ⠀
⠀ ⠀
💢 Twilight relay control. ⠀
It will turn on the lighting when the sensor installed on the site “realizes” the onset of twilight, and turn it off at dawn. The sensor is mounted in any convenient place on the territory, the relay is installed in the electrical panel ⠀
⠀ ⠀
💢 Control using an astronomical relay. In this case, an additional sensor is not needed - you only need to adjust the coordinates of the area once, and thanks to the built-in microprocessor, the time of sunset and sunrise at a certain time of the year will be calculated. You can additionally configure not to turn on the light when there is no one on the site. ⠀
⠀ ⠀
💢 Operation with a time relay. A simple and not very functional option. It only configures the time after which the light will be turned off after it is manually turned on. Suitable for those areas where there are few light sources. Suppose a relay is configured, according to which after 5 minutes the light must be turned off. The owner of the site, arriving in the evening at the cottage and turning on the lighting near the gate manually, may not return to turn it off - the light itself will turn off after a specified time. ⠀

⭕ In addition, at least one of all the lamps in the country should be equipped with a motion sensor. When someone passes within the range of the sensor, the light will turn on. This is very convenient if you tend to come to the cottage in the evening - no flashlights and matches are needed. In addition, it is an additional protection against intruders.
