Mounting seams according to GOST ⠀

Currently, GOST 30971-2012 is in force in this area. Seams are mounting units for adjoining window blocks to wall openings. General technical conditions (instead of GOST 30971-2002). If desired and necessary, it can be studied in detail, since besides the seams themselves, there are a lot of other useful information on the installation of window blocks. ⠀

📋 But in short at the seams: ⠀

📐 Also, GOST describes the requirements for sizes, according to the materials. ⠀

🗣 In our opinion, the optimal width of the seam, from the point of view of heat engineering, ease of installation and convenience of further internal and external decoration is 20-30 mm. ⠀

🗣 In single-layer walls, in places where windows are installed, in addition to the installation joint of 20-30 mm, it is recommended to make grooves and install insulation in them. As a result, the width of the installation joint is designed to prevent freezing of the window and the window-slope assembly, and not to simplify installation for installers. ⠀

Layered joint construction: ⠀

🔸 main - providing thermal insulation and sound insulation; ⠀
🔸 external - ensuring the free exit of steam from the seam and protection of the main from external influences (UV, wind, moisture); ⠀
🔸 internal - vapor barrier, protection. ⠀

Whatever materials are used in the construction of assembly joints, they must ensure tightness and prevent freezing of the circuit. And also to be durable and resistant to operational loads. ⠀
